Hi, my name is Tony and on April 8th 2022 my life took a dramatic turn. I fell down the stairs at my home, and within 48 hrs I was paralysed from the neck down and left fighting for my life………..

48 hrs after my accident the only thing I could move was my eyes, I couldn’t breathe without a ventilator and had to be fed through a tube

After neck stabilisation and decompression surgery I was sedated and kept in an induced coma.

Eventually after 3 weeks the sedation was reduced and I slowly started to wake up. I still couldn’t talk swollow or move I had to spend the next 4 weeks in ICU laid flat to allow my neck to heal.

When my blood pressure was stable I had a trachea fitted to support my breathing and could finally talk (all be it croaky) I still had no movement in any of my body.

Summary of the four weeks after my falll

> A seven hour operation on my spine/neck which I was told l may not survive

> put into a induced coma for three weeks

> two back to back cardiac arrests

> clot busters administered via a IV (can have devastating consequences)

> pneumonia

> sepsis

.> grade 4 pressure sore (this kept me in a hospital bed for 9 months)

It is with great pleasure that I provide this testimonial for Tony Pearson, who delivered a truly inspiring keynote speech at the CMSUK Conference on the 14th March. Tony's presentation left a lasting impact on all attendees, myself included.

Tony's journey is nothing short of remarkable. Despite facing immense challenges after being left paralysed from the neck down, with only limited movements in his arms, Tony has demonstrated incredible resilience and determination. His keynote speech marked his first public address, a momentous occasion that left everyone in awe of his courage and strength.

Throughout his presentation, Tony captivated the audience with his raw honesty, unwavering positivity, and profound insights. He shared personal anecdotes, highlighting the challenges he has faced and the triumphs he has achieved along the way. Tony's ability to articulate his experiences with such clarity, sincerity, sprinkled with humour, was truly remarkable.

What truly sets Tony's keynote apart is the invaluable lessons he imparts. Through his own journey of adversity and resilience, Tony delivers a powerful message of hope, perseverance, and the importance of embracing life's challenges with courage and determination. His words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression that extends far beyond the confines of the conference hall.

In conclusion, Tony Pearson's keynote speech at the CMSUK Conference was nothing short of extraordinary.
